Song of the Day

Today’s song of the day is one of my favorite Soul songs, Heard it Thru the Grapevine.  Here, we feature the version by Creedence Clearwater Revival – Heard It Thru The Grapevine.  First we give you the full version that appears on the album Cosmo’s Factory (1970), where the song clocks in at a full 11 minutes.  Below, we have a nice video of the band performing an abbreviated version of the song.

Here’s the shortened version with a video of Creedence performing the song.

Of course, there are many excellent versions of this song from the Motown factory, including versions both by Marvin Gaye and Gladys Knight and the Pips.

Marvin Gaye

Can’t go wrong with any of them.  And to think, when they originally penned this song, the boys at Motown didn’t hear a No. 1.
